Providing ONUCI staff gym complex with commercial grade exercise equipment for stress relieving activities.

In June of 2014, United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire (ONUCI) contracted American Procurement Services to supply and deliver commercial grade exercise and recreational equipment for their staff’s gym complex. These items furnished the Cote D’Ivoire UN personnel’s gym to provide their team with stress-relieving activities. APSCO worked with manufacturing partners to provide a wide range of cardio equipment, strength building machines and sports equipment. This presented the users with a variety of workouts and outdoor activities on their time off.

APSCO’s Execution

Additional equipment provided included outdoor and leisure games such as Cricket, Billiards, table tennis and more. Reputable brands supplied include Adidas, Gunn and More, Franklin, Body Fit and Park n Sun. The equipment came in two separate shipments, one from the USA and the second from China. APSCO consolidated goods coming from the US at their facility to provide a thorough inspection and packaging for export. The second shipment from China contained a variety of the strength and cardio equipment. Similarly, equipment went through inspection and export packing of assembled unit to minimize additional work for the end user. As a result, simple unpacking on-site allowed the equipment to be immediately ready for use. With careful coordination, taking into consideration the production and transit time, shipments arrived simultaneously in Abidjan. This allowed custom clearance to be carried out at the same time. Consequently, this minimized custom cost and the final delivery time of the goods. Finally, delivery of the equipment to ONUCI staff gym complex was completed and ready for the end user to enjoy.

The United Nations Operations in Cote D’Ivoire’s mission and purpose was to help bring stability and peace to Cote D’Ivoire, a mission they completed on June 30, 2017.
